Material Code Reader

In this tutorial, we will explore how to use the powerful NFC and barcode reading functionality in the stock management section of Sytex. This is especially useful for managing serialized materials and taking accurate inventories. We are going to see how to carry out two common use cases using the barcode reading application.
Let us begin!

Use Case 1: Site or Warehouse Inventory

Step 1: Create a materials operation
If you haven't already created a materials operation for your inventory, set it up here.
From the desktop, go to the Activities section and then material operations.
Select the "Site Inventory" or "Input" option and complete the other fields.

Step 2: Add a Material to the Operation
Within the application you can access the materials operation, select the option to add a new item and choose the corresponding material. Use your device's camera to scan the barcode of the material you want to add. The app will automatically recognize the material and allow you to enter additional details, such as the serial.
Material must be created with the "Allow Serial Number" setting

Use Case 2: Movement of Material with Barcode

Step 1: Access the Materials Module
You must create the materials operation from the desktop.

Step 2: Load by scanning the Barcode

Once you have created your movement, from the app you can use your device's camera to scan the barcode of the material. The application will identify the material and automatically fill in the necessary details.

Ready! Now you have learned how to use the barcode reading app in the Sytex "Materials Module" to manage serialized materials and perform precise movements. This process not only saves time, but also ensures accuracy in managing your materials.
