In some cases, an automation may fail due to internal errors or failures in third-party applications. For these situations, you can configure an alternative action that runs only if the main automation does not work.
The most common approach is to send an email to certain stakeholders to notify them of the incident. You can also configure another automation as a backup mechanism.
Inside the automation, you will find the "Fallback actions" section, with the same configuration format as the rest of the actions.
To send a notification by email, select the "Send email" action, fill in the recipient, subject, and context fields, and you are done!
Useful tips when filling in the fields
Recipient: enter a single email address. This is the main inbox where the notification will be sent.
Subject: define the message title that recipients will receive.
Context: content the system will use to fill in the email body.
Additional recipients: you can add more email addresses, separated by commas (",").
