Assignments and assigners

In this document, we are going to talk about assignors and how to use them through assignments.

Strictly speaking, an assignor is not a permission that enables a user to perform certain activities within Sytex, but they are often confused with user roles when configuring a template in the assignments section.
Assignors are tags that we can create and then place on certain objects so that the person entered in a "user type field" is copied to all objects that have this tag pre-configured as an assignor.
Assignors can be of 2 types: Personal (company staff) or Provider; they are a way to automate and expedite assignment when we don't know who will take an activity, but we want that someone to be "copied" to other objects without having to do it manually.
Once the assigner is created, it can then be used in the task(s) or documents required to make the automatic linking that we explained earlier.

Depending on the type of assigner we have created, the system will use it in the staff or contractor fields created for this purpose in the assignments section of the WST tasks (WBS template). Below is a screenshot with an example of staff and provider type assigners:
